Many women think our job is done with the birth of your child, but there is a lot we can provide after this point. In the first week after the birth, we visit you at home to check up on your health as well as the baby’s, and (if desired) help you with breastfeeding. If you have given birth at the hospital under the care of a gynaecologist, we will visit you once you are back home.
Six weeks after the birth, you can come for a follow-up appointment. You can also do this if you gave birth at the hospital but do not have a follow-up scheduled with the gynaecologist. This appointment is mainly about you, but of course we would also love to see your baby again! In the follow-up we evaluate the pregnancy, the birth and the first week post-partum. You can make this appointment yourself. This is where we conclude our care.
Every other week (in the even-numbered weeks) we have a free lactation consultation at our main location on Friday morning from 9.30-11.00. This is intended for women who are pregnant or are already breastfeeding. You can come for any questions about breastfeeding, help with latching, and to weigh your baby. It is also an opportunity to exchange experiences with other mothers. For dates check here, You can make An appointment via our assistents.
