Complaints policy

Do you have a complaint? Let us know!

1. Discuss your complaint with your midwife
Being pregnant is exciting. That's why we do everything we can to guide you and your child well. It is important that you can feel comfortable and safe with your midwife. Do you have any questions? Doubts? Are you dissatisfied about something? Tell us! Preferably as soon as possible. Then we can talk about it together and we try to act quickly upon it. Maybe we can get rid of a misunderstanding, reassure you or start working in a way that makes you feel more comfortable.
We are happy to make an additional appointment with you and schedule sufficient time to talk. You are always welcome to take someone you trust for support.

2. Involve a complaints officer
Would you like to know more about your rights or would you like advice? Do you want to discuss your complaint with someone else first? Or do you like it when someone helps you to file a complaint? Then contact the complaints officer.
The complaints officers are impartial. They discuss with you about what you are dissatisfied with and what you would like to achieve with your complaint. They advise you what you can do. They also help you to engage with us if you find this difficult, or to write a letter concerning the complaint. The complaints officer can help you and us to find a solution together. Everything you share with the complaints officer is confidential.
Contact with the complaints officer Contact a complaints officer via klachtenverloskunde.nl
The midwife tries, together with the complaints officer (if involved), to assess your complaint within six weeks. Within this period you will receive notification of what has been done done with your complaint.

3. Obstetricians board for disputes
If you and your obstetrician are unable to come to a satisfactory solution, despite the mediation of the complaints officer, you can submit your complaint to the Obstetricians board for disputes. This independent body investigates and assesses whether your complaint is well-founded. The board will come to a binding advisory statement regarding your complaint.
For more information, see the website of the Obstetricians board for disputes.
